Curtis Hartman has been experimenting with working differently for the last five years, putting together a portfolio of projects that combines professional work with civic and volunteer opportunities.
Curtis’s professional time is spent as a strategic communications consultant. Working with both corporate and public sector clients, he shapes new and existing marketing and editorial products that build thought leadership, brand identity and public recognition. A writer and editor for the last thirty-five years, he began his career in magazines, working as a senior editor of Inc, editor-in-chief of Inc Life, executive editor of Boston, and executive editor of Worth. In addition, he is the co-author of some fifteen business books, including Free, Perfect and Now, named by Fortune magazine as one of the ten best business books in 1999.
A full-time resident of Cape Cod since 1999, Curtis also works actively in town government. Twice elected as a member of the Truro planning board, he serves as chairman of Truro’s Local Comprehensive Plan Committee and as chairman of the Community Preservation Committee. His volunteer focus is on his work as an Educational Surrogate Parent, representing special needs children in negotiations with local school boards to make sure those children receive all of the support and services to which they are entitled.
